About the Author:
Emily Lim is the award-winning author of three heart-warming picture books - Prince Bear & Pauper Bear, The Tale of Rusty Horse and Just Teddy.
Her books were inspired by her personal journey of coping with a rare voice order (Spasmodic Dysphonia) for the past 10 years. In the process, she found strength in God and also love and support from family and friends. She has since recovered considerably and has faith that she will be completely healed one day.
Emily is the first person in Southeast Asia to have won the prestigious IPPY award for children’s books and also the first Singaporean to have ever won an IPPY award. The IPPY Awards, the world’s largest book awards competition, has been recognising the year’s best books since 1996.
She first wrote and published her debut picture book Prince Bear & Pauper Bear as a winner of Singapore’s First Time Writers and Illustrators Publishing Initiative in end 2007 (organised by the Media Development Authority and the National Book Development Council of Singapore). |
