DESCRIPTION

A Cause Worth Living For gives a glimpse into the heart of a terrorist and irrefutable evidence of God's saving grace.

This potent story set in Ulster's troubles is a useful reminder of what the media repeats to us: the threat of terrorism is inescapable today. What is perhaps less discussed is how difficult it is for its fighters to back out once caught in its thrall.

At 22 the young Loyalist David Hamilton was one of those locked in a powerful cycle of violence from which release seemed impossible.

Being a Loyalist meant knowing first-hand what - and usually who - was responsible behind breaking news: a bomb here, a hold-up there. His own barrister told David that he was lucky to get only 11 years!

Even prison is different for terrorists: they have ways of pressurising their inmates and gaolers. Yet even in that darkest place, God was waiting for David, whose story details his journey into reedom.

This updated edition has been illustrated with black and white photos and includes the point of view of David's second wife, Sharon.
