DESCRIPTION

Church life can be a confusing business. Result-orientated churches can "fast-track" the most able and charismatic members, leaving the rest of us out in the cold. Intimidating hierarchies reduce our opinions to insignificance, and treat our feelings as of no consequence. Confused and guilty, we end up just "hanging on."

It doesn't have to be this way. How to Survive in the Pharisee Church presents a message of hope from the teachings of Jesus Christ. Drawing on the personal experience of his oftentimes difficult religious journey, Norman Walford charts a path through the religious jungle. Whether you are an active church participant or a marginalized sideliner, this thought-provoking book will give you insight into the unspoken, yet often intense, silent suffering of many churchgoers in our congregations today.
