DESCRIPTION

In this book , originally submitted as a STM thesis to Drew University, Rev Gabriel Liew has directed our attention to an important , but seldom discussed aspect of John Wesley's ministry. Using Wesley's letter to a selected group of people from different backgrounds, Gabriel draws lessons from Wesley's approach to pastoral care, which if applied judiciously, can still enrich the practice of pastoral ministry. This is a commendable effort by caring pastor, calling for a greater understanding and appreciation of "Pastoral Care in the Wesleyan Spirit" ... REV DR DAMIEL KOH, Lecturer , TTC

REV LIEW has done us a great service in his careful and clear exposition of some of Wesley's correspondence. The Wesley that emerged from this study is a man of profound theological depth and pastoral sensitivity; a man of uncompromising faith and penetrating insight of the human condition. This book will be of tremendous help to pastors, church leaders, and all Christians who wish to achieve that delicate balance of theological integrity and compassionate ministry...DR ROLAND CHIA Lecturer in Systematic Theology.
