DESCRIPTION

While strong gospel centred preaching abounds many Christian pastors and laypreachers find it difficult to preach meaningfully from the Old Testament. As Graeme Goldsworthy shows, this is due in part to a neglect of the relationship between biblical theology and expository preaching. Preaching the Whole Bible as Christian Scripture is an excellent handbook meant to help preachers apply a consistently Christ-centered approach to all their sermons.

In the first half of the book, Goldsworthy examines the Bible, biblical theology, and preaching and shows how they relate in the preparation of sermons focused on the person and work of Christ. In second half, he applies the biblical theological method to the various types of literature found in the Bible, all the time with the preaching task in mind. For an additional visual aid, the volume includes diagrams to help readers conceptualize the structure of revelation in the Bible.

Clear, complete and eminently practical, this book will become a fundamental text for teachers, pastors and students preparing for ministry.
