DESCRIPTION

The first, largest, and most complete Rice collection ever

Helen Steiner Rice rose beyond tragedy and disappointment to inspire millions. Over eight decades, she penned thousands of poems and prayers to give comfort and hope through some of history's darkest moments. In the process, she became one of the first American women to introduce faith into the workplace and popular culture.

This beautifully crafted collection includes nearly four hundred poems-sixteen of them rare and previously uncollected, and one never-before-published prayer discovered in the Helen Steiner Rice Foundation archives. Organized by topic, this book features subjects Helen returned to again and again--from musings on heaven and the beauty in nature to odes of love for friends and family. It's a definitive volume packed with love for generations past and a hope for those to come.

From the 1920s and beyond her death in 1981, Helen Steiner Rice was and is an unofficial poet laureate of hope and optimism. Her books have sold more than seven million copies and comforted nations through some of history's darkest moments. There probably isn't one American family today that hasn't received or sent a greeting card featuring Rice's work, and her writings continue to inspire a new generation on-line, in gift books, and through note cards.
