DESCRIPTION

Modern culture constantly badgers us with the idea that happiness comes from within-we need more self-fulfillment, more self-esteem, more indulgence of our appetites.

But the Psalms, in their ever refreshing and bold manner proclaim that this is false. Happiness, according to the Psalms-so argues Pastor Josh Moody-comes from an external source not from within. Happiness comes from God and the Psalms of Ascent, psalms 120-134 guide us toward the true happiness and joy we are looking for. This little booklet of psalms shares with us the emotional turmoil of life's ups and downs and what it means to trust in God and his promise of provision regardless of how far up or how far down are circumstances take us. Journey to Joy: The Psalms of Ascent offers practical counsel, perceptive insights, and personal experience as a fellow pilgrim on the joy-filled journey to the father heart of God.
