WANT TO BE IN THE LIMELIGHT?

EVER WONDER WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE IN THE SPOTLIGHT OF GOD?

We have all been people who have this propensity to idolize, fantasize and adore those whom we admire and love. In a world where the celebrity cult is rife, we have amongst us celebrities from all walks and ranks of life - Tiger Woods, Brad Pitt, Bill Gates, Bob Dylan and even Billy Graham and Christy Lane.

Not only do these people live and walk amongst us, we also have this tendency to desire to be like them, to acquire their fame and popularity.

In Scripture, the superstars are also common. Most are familiar with the major players such as Abraham and David, Paul and Peter. But in many scenes the Bible also spotlights lesser known men and women to help us understand profound lessons about God and humanity. People like Barnabas and Andrew, Jochebed and Lydia, Martha and Thomas prove that "lesser lights" possess surprising potential when yielded to Him. And that includes us.

God has a plan for all of us. Clichéd though it may sound, it is a truth that rings veritable down through the corridors of time and across the annals of history. The Lord delights in making the ordinary effective and the plain extraordinary. And seeing Him work in and through the lives of those who seldom find their way to centre stage should encourage each of us to be available, and to stay available, for His service.

Let us delve into the pages of this enlightening book and taste together the awesome reflections of the "stars" that shine for the Lord. Twelve stories. Twelve people. Twelve wonders of the Christian biopic.

It is one remarkable reminder that our Lord is the God of the weak and meek, the God of the beatitudes, the God who is our Victor and our Warrior.
