Tract Text

Have you ever heard the term “blind as a bat?” Did you know that isn’t really true? Bats have perfectly good eyes for seeing in the daylight.  In fact, bats smell, hear, taste, feel and see just like people do. They just choose to do their hunting at night (‘cause that’s when the most bugs are out).

There are many Bible stories (in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) of people who really were blind. They could not see at all. But when they met Jesus the Son of God, He really did heal them and gave them their sight. “I was blind but now I see!” John 9:25

These stories are told to us because, even though we really aren’t blind, there is something very important that is true in the world that we cannot “see.” That is the fact that Jesus is the Son of God and that He came to earth to give us a whole new life.

One that lasts forever.

Jesus does this when we believe that He died for our sins (the bad things we think and do) and then rose again to new life. He took our punishment for us.

The Bible says “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” and that “The wages of sin is death…BUT…the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 3:23 & 6:23

God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Will you “open your eyes” to see Jesus today? If so, pray this prayer:

Dear God,

I have been blinded by my sins, but now You have let me see Jesus. I believe in Him now. I trust in His death on the cross to forgive my sins, and in His rising again to give me new life. Amen.
